KMQ Intro

Hi everybody. I'm taking this opportunity to introduce myself. I live in Michigan and have sewn for what seems my entire life. I don't remember a time when I didn't sew although I did get sidetracked for a stretch while I became obsessed with machine knitting. I love St. John knits and melding machine knitting with machine sewing, I do a fantastic job of knocking St. John off (if I must say so myself). The KMQ stands for knit machine queen. My birth name is Rachelle (rhymes with Michelle) I have six knitting machines and eight or nine sewing machines so technically I should call myself sewing machine queen. I love the clean lines of Chanel jackets and when I saw this sew along, I joined right up. I plan on using the Vogue pattern 7975. Presently I don't have any fabric picked out or anything suitable in my stash! Rather than even thinking about any other sewing I SHOULD be working on my wedding dress for August 30th...but I'm not. I think it will be interesting to see what everyone else plans.

  1. Hi Rachelle! What a wonderful and unique set of tools and skills you've got there with the knitting machines! We are glad to have you sewing along and hope this is a good complement, and not distraction from, your wedding dress! :)

  2. Rachelle, Wow! I'm impressed about knocking off St. John Knits. They have beautiful clothes. My husband once picked up a SJK in Nordstrom's and suggested I buy it. That was before he looked at the price tag! What a shock! The look on his face was priceless. He couldn't get it back on the rack fast enough.
